Apart from improvements in materials, pole design has changed very little in more than 100 years. Last year we started with a blank sheet of paper and set out the specification for a new generation of poles that solved all the limitations, and irritations of traditional pole designs. We were determined to drag pole design into the 21st century.

The result is the new Xitan Z12 Evolution - the first of a new style of high performance, professional level competition poles, purpose designed by Browning for modern fishing.

The Xitan Z9 pole is recognised as one of the best all-rounders on the market with a perfect balance between strength, weight and stiffness. We have applied the same well proven nano-carbon technology to the new Z12 Evolution so strength is assured. However, we have re-engineered the section lengths to optimise the poles stiffness. The Z12 is
ultra stiff when striking or fishing in sidewinds, but has been designed to have some “action” in the lower sections when under extreme load to absorb the pressure from hard fighting fish and over-enthusiastic strikes.

The Z12 Evolution has innovative new features which sets it well above other poles on performance, convenience, ease of use.

Single Length Kits (SLK) – no cutting back, pre-bushed, identical lengths

• 4 kits – 2 piece, all 2.6m long but with different tip diameters                    

 - 3.0mm – Ultramatch for solid elastics up to No6

- 3.9mm – Match for solid elastics up to no12 and light hollows                   

- 4.5mm*– Carp for solid elastics up to No16 and medium hollows

- 5.5mm*– Carp XL heavy, large diameter hollows

• all pre-bushed with top-quality internal PTFE bush

• available as standard or (*) in our unique 2 hole Tension Puller versions

• matching SLK cupping kit of exactly the same length

Pole Protection System – protects section ends from damage

• 3 half length sections that fit the sections 5/6 (PP I), 7/8 (PP II) and 9/10 (PP III). (Section 9 = 14.5 m, Section 10 = 16/17.5 m).

• fitted with fixed integral skid-bungs

• Integral part of the pole, unlike cheap mini-extensions

• A total solution to protecting your valuable pole.

True Length Design – a true 13m/16m pole, regardless of topkit type

• Top-kits are not cut back so no lost length.

Optimised Section Lengths – the secret of stiffness

• Middle sections are made shorter for strength and stiffness

• Butt sections are longer to achieve length and balance.

• Packs into two tubes at 16m with butt section only 1mm thicker than Z9.

Strengthened stress points – designing out weakspots

• Strengthened grip and elbow areas on lower sections resist crushing when unshipping

• Carbon overwrapped male and female joints resist premature wear and chipping

• Increased hoop strength at joints for easy un-shipping under load.

• Packs include Evolution power 3rd sections, extra strength for demanding situations
